My mission is to raise $2,400 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. While raising funds for them I will be training to complete a 26.2 mile Marathon.

My story starts with a post card....

I received a Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team in Training flyer in the mail. I asked my husband if he thought I would be able to run the Half-Marathon (13.1 miles). He said sure.

Well I went to check out the informational meeting. So that cold raining night I signed up for the full Marathon (26.2 miles, I laugh and tell my coach that it was peer pressure). I thought if I was going to commit to doing this I might as well make it worth it. That was 3 months months ago, and many miles have been log since then.

So far it has been a great experience. Everyone I am training with is wonderful and friendly. They all encourge you to do your best.

I have had aches and pains, here an there, but I am addicted to it.

I will be running the Vancouver (Canada) Marathon. I have heard its a beautiful course.

I want to say thank you to all the people who have contributed to this wonderful cause.

If you want to help me in my mission. I will gratefully accept any donation, large or small. Click on "donate: in the left-hand column to find out how or contact me by email (smithshan77@yahoo.com) Pass this site on to your friends.
